On Monday, Morocco defeated Zambia 2-0 in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in Ndola.
Striker Youssef En-Nesyri gave the Atlas Lions an early lead by taking advantage of a mistake by Miguel Changa Chaiwa. Patson Daka came close to scoring for the home team, but his header was saved.
Israel-based midfielder Kings Kangwa controlled the midfield as the North Africans stopped playing. After the break, Zambia again conceded a silly goal as Igamane Hamza’s 25 yard strike caught Toaster Nsabata off guard to seal victory for Morocco.
Zambia tried to push for goals but were frustrated by their experienced opponents.
The FIFA 2022 World Cup semifinalists put on an impressive performance, moving them up to 21 points in Group. Zambia suffered their fourth consecutive defeat as they remained third on 6 points.
The match against Tanzania in Dar el Salaam next month remains crucial. The Chipolopolo Boys' domestic campaign against Niger will come to an end. Zambia 0-2 Morocco at full time (En Nesyri 8′, Igamane Hamza 48′)
